A.I. City 2050

"In 30 years, urban design will be completely different from the design of the last 150 years. While we made roads sacred, human beings were pushed to the side. Future urban planning will be based on knowledge generated by the people of the past and the present. Artificial intelligence, combined with machine learning, will know how to draw conclusions and produce flexible and modular designs, perfectly suited for human needs – health-wise, mentally, and socially.

A.I. City proposes an approach to urban planning based on the technological and human development of the immediate future."

A.I. CITY

How the era of IoT and Artificial intelligence is going to impact future city planning?

A.I. system and data harvesting
Based on physical and digital data harvested from the city users, the algorithm is capable of choosing a daily path. This path considers the health-related issues of the user choosing a hard and longer path to strength cardio, or even choosing social experience for lonely users.

Layered City
Due to vast infrastructures splitting natural environments, the design strategy was to have all high-speed transportation system underground.
this strategy is coherent to the main goal of the project - Do not harm ecological system, and make a safer place for people and animals.

Ecological Layer
The design of the "Habitat surface".
The strategy has 3 steps:
1. research for areas or elements to preserve, which are important for the ecological system.
2. design the city footprint based on the remaining spaces.

Anthropogenic Layer
(the built environment)
The city system algorithm analyzes the preferences or needs of future habitats and calculates the suitable composition of specific city blocks.

The block
In order to create a healthy city for the users, the inspiration for the proportions of the block is taken from ancient walkable cities that were designed for walking and human-scale.
The paths are different for each purpose, in order to maintain the user's safety.
Exposure to Nature
Exposure to Social interaction
Exposure to Privacy
Those are the 3 basic needs of humans in the future
Base on those needs, I created 3 blocks.
Nature Block
Public Block
Privacy Block
7.gif
Nature block
nature block is all about exposing the users to the feeling of nature.
using Texture, smells, irregular space, each space designed differently to stimulate senses like in nature.
the building itself maximizes natural lights and wind flow.

Nature block
The Public space acts as an urban senses stimulation, with different kind of smells, humidity, textures and paths

Public Block
In 2050 the main communication system will be online, and people won't be exposed physically to other people as much as they are today, so Public block is designed in order to expose users to other people.
This is a dynamic block that uses people's data to create diffrent public spaces.
10.png
Public Block
The building facades are transparent in order to expose all users.
the open space itself is transformable and always consider human interaction and exposure with other users.
11.gif
Privacy Block
Privacy in 2050 means the user is "unplugged" from the system, and the system cannot harvest any data, so the users make their own path on the privacy block.
the block contains superposition of different functions, in order to have a space for the users activities.

Privacy Block
The public space is designed like a cave, to resemble the ancient "protection" habitat for humans.

The superblock
This superblock is made out of 3 public blocks. This space is the transport station in the neighborhood.
Underground system control moving of people and supplies.
